ROOFTILE

(steel tile)

Rooftile is the most perfect and developed steel roof in tile shape form, produced by Kamaridis GlobalWire Group Offers all the advantages of the classic French ceramic tiles without the disadvantages.

Durability in unfavourable weather conditions

In the U.S.A. further to the catastrophic cyclones in the Florida State, very severe regulations were adopted concerning the strength and the durability of the cladding and roofing material covering.

Rooftile was tested in the laboratory under the supervizion of the University of Miami.

The results show that Rooftile resists in wind loads up to 10 kPa.

The wind loads in Greece are usually up to 6,5 kPa.

Unique advantages of Rooftile

  • Specific pressing procedure
Due to the modern forming machinery of KAMARIDIS SA, the specific procedure of Rooftile manufacturing results in the maintenance of the metal durability.
  • Variations of tile length
The standard tile length is 330 mm. Upon special request; each tile can be manufactured in lengths that vary from 80 mm to 450 mm.
  • Curved shape
Due to its elasticity, Rooftile, in the form of short tiles, can be installed on curved roof carriers.
  • Long sheets
The recommended maximum sheet length is 6 m. Rooftile is manufactured in customised longer sheets, which are only limited by the installation and transportation capability.
  • Low weight - high strength
Rooftile weighs only 1/10 of the corresponding ceramic tile weight. The material strength ensures full roof load capacity, without any deflections.
  • Application in low pitch roofs
Rooftile is the only product in the form of tile, which can be used for two-sided and multiple-sided roofs with a minimum pitch of 7.5%.
  • Water tightness
The special sheet forming and the double profile overlapping make Rooftile completely watertight against any water inflow.

Steel Sheet

Hardness from DX51-D to S-320 in standard thickness of 0,50 mm and length from 2,000mm to 6,000mm. On customer demand, it is also available in different thickness gauges and length.

Oxidation - corrosion protection

Aluzinc hot-dipped /Aluminium-alloy coated (43.5% Zn - 55% Al - 1.5% Si) with total coating mass from 70 gr/m² to 275 gr/m2 which provides 6 times higher protection in unfavourable weather conditions and corrosive environments than simple galvanisation with zinc.

Finish-coating Colorbond XRW

Multiple layers, pre-treatment, primer, finish coating of high strength in time guaranteed in unfavourable weather conditions.

On customer demand, it is also available with different organic coatings, depending on the use.

Colours

The standard colour of Rooftile is spice red. It is also available in various colours on customer demand, in RAL scale.

Installation

Rooftile can be fitted on steel as well as on wooden purlins using the appropriate fasteners (self-drilling screws).

For the sealing of roof points where there are skylights, ventilation systems etc, various non silicon-base sealant materials that are available in the market can be used.

For roof insulation it is recommended to insert a glass fibre sheet reinforced with aluminium foil between purlins and Rooftile.
