Purlins C

The "Z"- and "C" (Zed and Cee) shaped sections of Kamaridis GlobalWire Group are accurately roll-formed via cold forming from high-strength zinc-alloy coated steel in order to provide an efficient, lightweight and cost efficient roofing, cladding and walling support system, for framed structures. (Purling and girt system).

Material specifications

The "Z" and "C" shaped section structural elements are manufactured through cold forming procedure from zinc-alloy coated steel Zinc-hi-ten® which minimum yield stress is by 60% higher than the respective profiles formed through hot forming. This means that we can use sections of minimum thickness and weight, resulting in reduction of the time and the cost of the construction.

They are classified as "thin gauge member" profiles and the study as well as the analysis concerning their application is conducted according to the provisions of the European standard EN 1993-1.3: "Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures. Part 1.3: General rules. Supplementary rules for coldformed thin gauge member and sheeting"

Base Metal Thickness (BMT) 1,5mm - 2,0mm - 2,5mm - 3,0mm

Steel Quality: S320 (according to AS 1397-93) with guaranteed minimum yield stress of 320 N/mm2. (For further details, consult the section regarding the technical characteristics of the sheeting).

On customer demand the purlins can be also manufactured with round (Φ12 – Φ18, Μ10 – Μ20) and oval holes (Φ10*20, Φ15*30, Μ12*44, Μ14*44, Μ17*32, Μ18*44)

The KAMARIDIS GLOBALWIRE SA "Z" and "C" shaped section are produced in standard dimension and length upon request from 2.000mm to 12.000mm according to the engineering design data. Are produced according to the desired hole punching with the following restriction:

  • Minimum distance from the end section 35mm
  • Minimum centre holes distance in perpendicular axe 65mm

Installation

The "C" shaped section  of KAMARIDIS GLOBALWIRE GROUP OF COMPANIES feature two spaced-apart parallel flanges and are suitable for construction of single span multi-bay buildings, channels, window and door trimmers.  "C" shaped sections  are also effective as antianemia.

"C" shaped sections can not be overlapped unless there is additional restraints for single span or the joining of the free ends at consecutive spans.
